What happens after you choose your plates, and the documents needed before we can make them.
Complete your order
Choose your options, enter your registration and add your plates to the basket. Select delivery or collection, then pay securely.
Confirm your documents
We need proof of your identity and entitlement to the registration before making your plates.
Who you are.
We need evidence of your name and address. A driving licence is one common option.
Documents showing name and address
- Driving licence
- Utility or Council Tax bill from the last six months
- Bank or building society statement from the last six months
- National identity card
A passport or bank card shows your name only; additional address evidence is needed.
Your right to use it.
You also need a document showing entitlement to the registration number. Common examples include:
- Vehicle registration certificate (V5C)
- The V5C green new keeper slip
- Certificate of entitlement (V750)
- Retention document (V778)
- A DVLA number plate authorisation certificate

Before your plates are made
GOV.UK guidance requires the supplier to see original documents. Contact us to confirm how your documents will be checked for your order. When collecting, bring your originals.
